Collection: Haunui wool

Haunui Wool comes from Taranui, a family farm in the foothills of South Canterbury, New Zealand.

Theuy started breeding coloured sheep in the 1980s, with a goal of producing premium quality wool. They have a passion for breeding sheep whose wool has a stunning handle, soft enough to be used for next to skin clothing, yet long enough for easy hand spinning and maintaining handcraft characteristics.
Their Haunui sheep have their own wide range of individual colours which are reflected in the collection of their wool.

The sheep live a natural life outside in large pastures all year round. They are guaranteed to be mulesing-free. The wool is processed at Wild Earth Yarn's spinning mill, not far from the farm.

Haunui are certified under the New Zealand Farm Assurance Program and the Responsible Wool Standard, which provide guarantees for integrity, traceability, animal health and welfare, people, farm, natural resources and biosecurity.

The combed wool is given in weight 100 grams.
