An Advent Winter Night

A total of approx. 600 g of hand-dyed Haunui wool, divided into 24 x 25 g, with a color theme inspired by the photograph. The calendar also includes themed goodies.

You can choose to spin day by day, or wait until you've opened all the packages. And yes, of course, you can open them all at once, but I ask that you do not post on social media until the actual day in December. Spin the colors one by one or divide and mix them into different groups, exactly as you wish. Please use #awintersnightadvent if you post on social media, for the inspiration of others.

Several of the wool bases are available in natural colors in the webshop if you want to make a supplement order, so that it is enough for a larger project. I can especially recommend Charcoal, Fudge, Toffee hogget, Fog, or Pearl.

The number of calendars is limited and I only dye the quantity ordered. Some fiber blends and wool colors are sold out at the supplier, so this is your only chance to get these particular colors.

We hand-dye with acid dyes free of heavy metals. Hand washing is recommended. Since the yarn is hand-dyed, it may bleed during the first wash.

The calendar will be shipped at the end of October.

Haunui Wool comes from Taranui, a family-owned farm in South Canterbury, New Zealand.

The owners began breeding colored sheep in the 1980s with the goal of producing wool of the highest quality, soft enough for next-to-skin garments, yet long enough to be easily spun by hand. The sheep live a natural life outdoors in large pastures all year round. They are guaranteed mulesing-free.
